Applicants desiring the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) must submit supplemental
application documents. Technical Standards for Admission and Physical Exam form
are due at the time of the application. Immunization Record, Background Check, Drug
Screening, and CPR/AED card must be submitted before first semester of MATNonnative English speakers who are not eligible for an exemption must obtain the minimum required score on any of the English proficiency exams accepted by BYU Graduate Studies

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
This degree provides students with an entry-level degree in athletic training. Upon completing this degree, students will be eligible to complete the BOC exam and become certified athletic trainers (upon passing the BOC) and prepared to assume leadership roles in clinical and allied health and medical programs. This degree does not require research or a thesis.
Credit hours: Minimum 39 work hours. This is an entry-level master’s degree and does not require research or a thesis.
Prerequisites: Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sciences or a related field, including all of the courses listed below or equivalents: Science of Biology (course), Human Anatomy (course or equivalent), Essentials in Human Physiology (course or course), Pathophysiology for the AT course (may be taken at BYU when you begin your program if no equivalent), College Physics (course/course), College Chemistry (course or course/course), Psychology (course).
Transfer students need to determine equivalents to prerequisite courses
