Communication Disorders
Completing the Master of Science degree in ComD fulfills all requirements for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), pending completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). After the program, you’ll be eligible to begin your CFY and will meet Utah school license requirements.
The program is divided into roughly three equal areas: academic coursework, clinical practicum, and the thesis. It’s strongly recommended students stay local and avoid full-time employment until all requirements are complete to prevent delays, which can extend graduation by up to a year. Students typically finish in six semesters, with spring/summer terms counted as one total. All students must complete required courses, clinical assignments, and a thesis.
Information from the last three years about graduate admission and program completion can be found here.
