The Master of Science in Nursing—Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program at BYU prepares nurse practitioners to deliver expert, compassionate care across the lifespan. Graduates are equipped to promote health, prevent illness, and manage acute and chronic conditions in diverse populations and settings.
Academic Excellence
BYU’s FNP program combines rigorous academic coursework with over 500 hours of supervised clinical experience. Students learn in a fully equipped Learning Resource Center featuring audiovisual tools, computer learning aids, private study rooms, and a state-of-the-art simulation lab. Faculty work closely with students to secure clinical placements and mentor them through evidence-based capstone projects.

Admission Requirements
Applications due: December 1
Key requirements include:
BSN from a nationally and regionally accredited institution
Current RN license
Minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA
Completion of a basic undergraduate statistics course and a college level pathophysiology course
1+ year of full-time RN experience before applying
Letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and interview
International applicants must also complete a credential evaluation, pass the NCLEX, obtain RN licensure, and demonstrate English proficiency.
